Erin, Owner
At The Massage Connection, all of our therapists are trained in the basics: Swedish massage, deep tissue massage, trigger point, sports massage and prenatal massage. This is how we're able to tailor each session to fit each client (and why we don't bother with a confusing menu). Some therapists have taken special certification courses in these techniques - such as prenatal massage or sports massage - in order to learn more in depth practices. Others have certifications in modalities that aren't always offered in school - such as lymphatic drainage. We try to make it as simple as possible for you to choose the right massage therapist for your session.
Our therapists are professional, talented, experienced, and just fun to be around! They have all met and exceeded the minimum standards for massage therapy licenses and continuing education. In the state of Texas, a massage therapy student is required to pass a criminal history background check, including fingerprinting, in addition to completing a (minimum) 500 hour massage therapy program and state licensing test. Massage therapists in Texas must also complete 12 hours of continuing education every 2 years. The Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation (TDLR) is our governing body.
